- Lavender, Edward "Toby" - 7/8/1896 - 2//10/84
- Toby Lavender was an extraordinarily gifted athlete who excelled in baseball, football
and ice skating. He and his wife Grace Lemaster had one son and three daughters. For most
of his adult life Toby was employed in the hardware business by Meade & Company and
Big Sandy Hardware.

LaViers, Harry - 6/15/1900 - 7/20/??
- Harry LaViers was president of Southeast Coal Company and a leader in the state's coal
industry. Harry served on numerous city and state boards and commissions. He was a member
of the Paintsville Gas and Water Commission for many years. His family was one of the
principal benefactors of Mayo Memorial United Methodist Church.

- Lynn, Loretta Webb - 4/13/35 -
- No place in Johnson County is better known that "Butcher Holler", the
homeplace of Loretta Lynn, the Queen of Country Music. Loretta Webb was 13 when she
married "Doo" Mooney Lynn. With a single recording Loretta traveled with her
growing family from station to station until her plaintive voice and vibrant personality
brought her to the attention of the Grand Ole Opry. She has since won every major award
offered in her field.

- Lynn, Oliver "Mooney" - 8/27/26 - 8/22/96
- Mooney Lynn, husband of Loretta Webb Lynn, is recognized as the one most responsible for
his wife's career in country music. Mooney, like Loretta, was a native of Johnson County
and a veteran of World War II. Initially, Mooney managed Loretta's career, traveling with
her as she persuaded disc jockeys across the country to play her recordings. The couple
had six children.
